Poll question: Would Crist have won had Meek dropped out?
Not should. Not should. But would.

12. Someone check me...
...but I think earlier in the evening, Crist + Meek was less than Rubio.

I always vote Dem, and this time only I voted Crist to try to block Rubio. Clearly I had no option to block the Tea Bagger who wants to stop the deficit by....creating more deficit.

If FLA respects it's former Governors like that, Crist had no chance.

Let's hope that same sentiment applies to Jeb.

4. Would Meek have won if the Democrats actually supported the Democrat
instead of the Republican they thought would beat the worse Republican?

This IS a red state. I don't understand why people continue to hold some kind of hope for FL.

28. Better question: Would Democrats have won more downticket races had they not
split their own vote, humiliated their RARE statewide minority candidate, and contributed to an 80 percent Republican Florida Senate vote, with 62 percent of Florida Hispanics (majority non-Cuban) going for Rubio?

19. I agree.
This business of politicians who are primaried out being able to run as independents is very disruptive to our system and corrupts the process as it was intended to be.

but Crist would have kept it a lot closer.

16. The numbers seem to be against either of them winning if the other wasn't there-
Rubio's winning by over 50% on his own. Crist's numbers plus Meek's numbers don't beat Rubio's numbers.

This isn't a case like 2000 where Bush's numbers were less than Nader + Gore or Gore + 1/2 Buchannon in Florida; the numbers do not support anything other than a Rubio win.

Haele

22. Adding Crist and Meek they come awful close AND
if Meek wasn't in maybe some of those who voted for Rubio would have voted for Crist thinking he had a chance to win. And maybe the only reason Rubio did get the votes is because people thought they might as well vote for him because Crist didn't have a chance. Florida is a republican state, so Meek didn't have much of a chance anyway. Sink is doing a hell of alot better than people thought.
