Are we ready to demand Obama fire Tim Geithner yet?

Depending on who you believe, somewhere between 50 and 80 percent of voters named the economy as their top concern.

And our Treasury secretary is still, inexplicably, one of the architects of the financial crisis.

I propose the first step to making a winning argument in the next election is to get rid of Geithner and put in someone who puts the priorities of average Americans above that of the bankers.

The electorate has made it plain and clear that the economy, and pretty much nothing else, is what it is concerned with at this point in time. Given that this is a democracy and we are Democrats, can we try giving what the voters what they want a shot?

I'd wager there are not many voters out there who are not aware that big banks and big corps are getting favored treatment while Main St. gets reamed from every direction. They don't have to know that it's Geithner directing those policies to know they're getting a raw deal. It's the policies that are the problem, and the continued presence of Geithner is an enormous contributor to the perpetuation of those policies.
