So I'm in my local sports bar. Highly right wing but I'm the bar socialist and came down with my "I Voted" sticker to let all the locals who hadn't know I had more actual input then they despite their year long diatribes. Next to me, a clueless guy says he has an absentee ballot that was mailed to him and he would vote by asking the opinions of people in the bar since "I don't follow politics." Goes to his vehicle and brings back an application for an absentee ballot wrapped inside an anti-democrat mailer from the Republican National Committee.

I explained it was only an application for a ballot-he had voted absentee last year and thought when he received the mailing it WAS a ballot-and that since he was in fact home and today was election day he would have to vote in person or give up. He DID in fact give up but because myself and another guy wondered if it was legal for him to receive an application INSIDE an RNC mailing he called the state republicans who told him they had in fact mailed the application wrapped in their mailing to over 2000 statewide.

A fellow down the bar chimed in that his wife was a local town clerk and that the practice had been ruled legal-as long as it was only an application for an absentee ballot it was OK EVEN if wrapped in a pretty radical republican mailer.Only if an actual ballot was mailed were laws broken...

But I watched this clown read the mailing and he ASSUMED since it came with state documents the nonsense in the mailer was condoned by the state...

Yes he was an idiot-but that's why he was targeted.
