Tonight we took a hit. We've been here before. We've come back before. Giving up? Hit the showers and get over it. Get ready for the next match. Lay down and cry? No. Get up and fight!

16. Probably the saddest results of the evening, so far
Sheesh, the crazies are truly taking over. Bachman hasn't scared anyone? How can that be. It's the caliber of people that are taking over that is so disturbing.

10. Fuck no. We lived through the Bush Years.
This is just a minor setback. We have an awesome man in the highest office in the land, and this man seems to revel in challenges. I look forward to seeing how he's going to deal with this shit. I'm going to deal just fine. No more whining for me. Good pep talk though, coach. Huah!

29. it's not so much giving up, as I think some aren't going to make it to the otherside
I get it that for a millionaire like Jon Stewart it's the end time. But for Americans that have been out of work for over a year... it is pretty much the end time. The people that have nothing but hatred for the out of work, poor, retired, sick and heck even the working middle class won today. A lot of people are looking at not just bad times, but perhaps the end of their life. For them there isn't a tomorrow.

32. We just got fucked
Honestly I'm not in the mood for unwarranted optimism. Alan Grayson and Russ Feingold just lost, we just lost the best senator and congressman in all of congress. I dont have a fucking job and from the looks of it things aren't going to get any better in the next 2 years. This country is going to suffer so much in the next 2 years and I dont have the willpower to delude myself. We got fucked by retarded people and we are going to have to listen to the media tell us how amazing they are for a long time.

33. Grayson's loss was way foreseeable. More upset about Feingold. I don't have a job either.
It's not delusion to understand that this night could have been much worse.

It's not delusion to know that we can either cry and lick our wounds or take a breath and come out fighting.

Yeah, the reality is there are a lot of dumb fucks in this nation. And there are a lot of lazy people who could have come out tonight but didn't. That is the reality.

But everything in politics is transient. This is a baseball game; this is a volleyball game. It will be for the foreseeable future. We're never gonna have a zero-loss season. And sometimes we're gonna lose the series. At this point, you have two options: walk away whimpering, or taking a breath with eyes on the next battle.

I'm not going to walk away whimpering.

35. it's a big deal, but not that big of a deal...
the thing is, voters won't reject these kind of fools until they seem them actually creating policy, which really won't happen until they're fully in control, then remorse will set in, and the pendulum will swing back, but only temporarily...God, how we get anything done in this country is a fricking mystery to me...
