the Blue Dogs/DLC/third way 'ers
or the more progressive wing of the party colloquially referred to as the "professional Left"?
I am guessing many of the seats we lost were Blue Dog/3rd way seats like Lincoln and Nelson. Am I right? Could it be that the consensus among the remaining Dems might then shift farther Left? And having a tighter ideological core might make us more effective and cohesive as an opposition party in the House?
Anyway, I don't think its over for us yet. I think the takeaway from this whole election fiasco is that the Democrats need to start acting like Democrats. Theres no making nice with the republicunts.

1. Everything moves rightward... |
|
The Republicans drift right with the Teabaggers...
The Blue Dogs fill the niche they left behind...
The President continues his rightward lean...
The only ones leaning left ain't in office... progressives are utterly fucked.
