They won't be able to govern, so expect lots of obnoxious noise

With a veto pen, and what appears to be continued control of the Senate, the Republicans will not be able to pass legislation. They will, however, be able to spend two years pulling publicity stunts.

Michelle Bachmann and Darrell Issa have already talked about hearings. They will come. Don't be surprised to hear Tony Rezko's name dragged back out. Don't be surprised to hear about the birth certificate. Think Whitewater -- they will persistently investigate in the overwhelming absence of evidence.

Don't be surprised if we get an extended government shutdown. The house will likely pass an unsignable budget, or fail to act on anything the WH sends them. They will argue that a shutdown is what America really needs "to get things back in order and send a message."

If a SCOTUS justice retires, we may not see a replacement until after 2012, unless the fillibuster is outlawed.

In terms of damage to the country and causes that are dear to us, the loss of state houses, and the election of Governors like Scott, Brewer, and Kasich will probably be worse than the loss of the House.

2. Obama needs to get some advice from Clinton
on how to handle these bastards. Hearings and more wasted time with bullshit than working out the country's problems. Merde

5. Here is the biggest danger yet. MSM already gives repubs more talk time and now they will demand
even more. They are loud and now have the biggest money behind them to buy the largest megaphone. There needs to be serious structural change from everything from media to votes to how elections are run. Everything.
We are progressives and Dems must instigate that change and help set it up somehow.

6. With a slimmer majority in the senate
Don't be surprised if the senate doesn't "compromise" with an eye on 2012.
