What loss hurt most? What surprised you? What win made you happiest?
Hurt most: Virtual tie for me between Feingold and Sestack

Surprised: I figured Joe Manchin didn't have a prayer. I was surprised Hodes lost as badly as he did.

Happiest: I'll have to get back to you on that in an hour or so - if I'm awake.

2. Feingold's loss hurts the most, Sestak is close but he wasn't in the Senate
so we aren't really "losing" something in the same sense but it still makes me sad.

4. Hurt most: MN 6th District. Damn. Also Feingold, and WI is gonna be SOOOOOoooo sorry...
Not feeling too happy about much right now.

Other than a nasty little twinge of anticipatory schadenfreud thinking about how the GOP is gonna look tying itself into knots for the next two years...

wearily,
Bright

Surprised by the bloodbath in Ohio.

Happiest about Manchin, even though he's a dick. Raese was much worse.

8. what hurt most? All of Ohio. We lost it all!
All!!! All State-wide races and all competitive Congressional seats. We are so fucked in Ohio...... We lost everything and reapportionment - which also means we're right wing for another 10 years at least.

I am sick over it.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find any thing to be happy about. fuck.

11. Well....
Hurt: Joe Sestaki (PA) Watching his concession speech now, I'm almost in tears.

Surprised: Heath Shuler (NC-11). Blue Dog Democrat in an extremely conservative district. Very tight race for months, but he won easily, 54%-46%.

Happiest: Joe Manchin (WV) Hands down. In a state that has turned red as blood, with Obama having a 70% disapproval rating, thanks to Manchin, we have kept the Senate!

12. Losing Grayson & Feingold is horrible
They did their jobs the way they were elected to do. It's sickening that far less worthy candidates will be re elected and more so that a pedophile will sit in Feingold's seat and a theocratic wackjob will sit in Grayson's.

Haven't heard the final from Nevada yet,but under no circumstances should Harry Reid be allowed anywhere near leadership again. Looks like Barbara Boxer won. Give her the Majority Leader gig.

The race that makes me most nervous out our safety if the Kentucky Senate race, and the race that is STILL WAY TOO CLOSE for my sanity is Boxer/Fiorina.

30. Feingold, Paul, Brown
I love Alan Grayson, but he was flamboyant and stuck his neck out, so that's not so surprising.

Feingold is one of the most morally fine Senators we've had in decades, and that was just plain depressing.

Paul winning isn't so horribly surprising, but the margin is a shocker.

Jerry Brown is just a wonderful and honorable guy, and it's a thumb in the eye of the reactionaries whenever he's successful. He's klutzy and impractical, but deeply, deeply ethical in a way reminiscent of Carter, while still being able to be a bare-knuckled politician. So very much of what was good about the 70s was destroyed thirty years ago by the ascendency of that mega-asshole Reagan and the seemingly unending regime of atavistic thugs systematically dismantling the New Deal and crushing of the working people of this country, and it's thrilling to see an unbowed old hero re-mount the stage again in a time of strife. Yay Jerry!!!

31. Feingold was the most painful loss
Although not unexpected. The pleasant surprise will be the Bennett win in Colorado, although a squeaker, and I love the fact Hickenlooper won...I am still amazed by how many teabaggers are in this state. Anyone need a few?
