Wanna know why Harry Reid is Majority Leader?
He just won a state that has 15% unemployment.

Any incumbent that can win a statewide race in a state that has 15% unemployment and more foreclosures per capita than any state in the nation the past two years, is one helluva politician.

Yes... he was lucky in who his opposition was. But he's not just going to win, he's winning comfortably.

Now that he doesn't have to run for 6 years, he can play a little less cautiously in the Senate.

2. I'm posting this for the zillionth time, but I just love it -- that today the
Pundit Panel on MSNBC gave it to Angle. No question.

4. He's majority leader because he's the limpest noodle in the bowl
and the rest of them don't want a leader at all. They want to go their own ways and shop themselves around for whatever they can get without some "leader" telling them what Democrats are supposed to believe and vote for.

18. Remember Daschle?
Democrats seem to prefer very weak leaders in the Senate. Why?

6. I think the unions and ground troops won it for him...
I think THEY are the ones who fought so hard and he, the fortunate benefactor. I'm certainly glad that he won, but in all honesty, I can't credit him for that win. That said, I hope he learned something that will help as he returns as Senate Majority leader.... :shrug;

Unions helped Obama get elected and we know what that got them.

8. That and the Democratic leadership poured a hell of a lot of money into the race
Perhaps to the point of losing some other seats. Several candidates went down tonight due to what could be perceived as, well, lack of interest on the part of the Democratic party.

20. Yep
It's idiotic to play cautiously when your state has 15% unemployment.

and an idiot.

A better candidate could have beaten him - it was actually touch & go for a while, with Sharon Angle. That's not impressive.

I hope they find a different Majority Leader.

13. Bachmann won and her district has more unemployment, more
foreclosures and less jobs than any place in the state of Minnesota. That might be true in NV but it didn't help Clark crazy dumb Bachmann won.

15. Yeah, I'm sure he'll really let loose now.
:eyes:

He won because the woman that would have beat him made the chickens for check-ups gaffe. That left him running against someone that was certifiable, and he still almost got beat.

Get rid of him.

16. Harry Reid does not convey passion or intensity.
IMO, he lacks charisma. He doesn't do a good job conveying the problems that GOP gridlock has caused.

I would rather see an asshole like Schumer in the leadership position. Schumer is better on-camera and portrays his commitment to his positions in a way that Reid does not. IMO this is very important!!!!

17. Nevada has an an ass load of Mormon Republicans that will vote for Reid over a gentile, any day.
I've never had any doubt that Reid would prevail - I've spent my entire life in Utah, these people are as transparent as flint glass.
