He is weak and ineffectual and should not be in charge of the Senate. Give it to someone that is in a safe seat and someone that will actually get something done.

4. Get rid of the Cindarella Kid?
No one in the Senate will challange him for the leadership.

5. No more bizarre Daschle-style scared leaders
It is confounding and inexplicable. It's hard to run a legislative house looking constantly over one's shoulder.

6. I disagree that he's been ineffective, but DO agree that he should step down....
...as majority leader. He's become a drag on Obama (not his fault, but just because he's been made a posterboy for people's anger at the Democratic Congress). Durbin should take over as Senate leader.

Me, I'm happy about the win. Reid has helped make Nevada blue and we should be thankful for that.

12. It's a sad statement about tonight that a 5% win over a crazy person is something spectacular.

this point. This has been the most bizarre election that I can recall. It will take a day or two to sort out all of this, whew.....

Best I can figure out is there are a bunch of older people that object to Obama or the whole administration and would vote against their interest for their social or religious beliefs. Did they really think that a president could get a country back on it's financial feet in less than 2 years? Hell, I don't like Geitner and was glad to see Summers go but Obama truly did accomplish a lot of good.

20. I agree
I'd love a new majority leader. I'm glad he won, but it seems funny to me that you can win under 300,000 votes in your low population state and just because you have seniority you're the leader. My city has more Democratic voters than that, and we probably wouldn't want Harry as our majority leader!
