49 Ds, 46Rs, and 2 Is (Sanders(VT) and Lieberman(CT)) for the Senate on both MSNBC and Fox "News".

Democrats will have somewhere between 50 and 54 votes in the Senate, plus VP Biden's tie-breaker vote.

What will the final outcome be, and when will we find out? What will Lieberman do?

WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

2. HolyWarJoe will get payback.
That's ALL he's done since 2006. That's all he's GOING to do as long as he's in the Senate.

It's why we HAVE to make sure he's beaten in 2012.

3. We have the Senate. We have now 51 seats and Lieberman has to stay in if he wants to be reelected.
(CT just reelected a Democratic Senator and a full Democratic House delegation, so he stands no chance of being reelected by becoming a Republican).

5. Does it matter? No progressive legislation will be passed.
It will just be investigations into dems in the house for 2 years.

Of course, theyll fund the wars, and cut taxes, continue torture and what not

6. There are opportunities for the WH to engender another House swing in two years
Republicans can no longer just sit on their hands. They'll come up with ideological legislation that President Obama can foil with extremely stern veto messages, and with quid pro quos for corporate interests that the Justice Department can prosecute. With prospects for major progressive legislation dim, the President can stage positive photo-ops to make progressive Democrats look good, without having to worry about keeping Blanche Lincolns in the fold.

And Democrats can make the new Republicans vote down sensible legislation, such as extension of federal aid to elementary and secondary schools, comprehensive immigration reform, etc, setting them up to make their stays in Washington as short as possible.
