Message from Governor Jerry Brown :)
I just got off the stage at the Fox Theater in Oakland. I chose this theater because it is a symbol of renewal -- of what is possible in our state.

I want everyone in California to know we might, and we will, have tough times, but if we all pull together and if we operate with honesty, transparency, tell it like it is, and level with you, we can meet the challenges ahead.

What we need is a larger sense of agreement and the only way we can get beyond where we are -- which is polarization, division and hostility -- is to get past these partisan divisions. So I take as my challenge the responsibility of forging a common purpose. Not just a common purpose based on compromise, but a common purpose based on a vision of what California can be.

And I see a California once again leading on renewable energy, leading on education. We are all God's children and while I understand politics, I will always carry with me my sense of that missionary zeal to transform the world -- that's always been my calling. That's what it's all about -- the vision.

I'm hoping and praying, and I know this breakdown that's gone on for too long in Sacramento will pave the way for a breakthrough. That's the spirit that I am going to take with me as I go back to Sacramento 28 years later -- full of energy, full of creativity, and ready to solve our problems.

Thank you,

Jerry

1. That's our Jerry!
I am so relieved.

Meg would have been an unmitigated disaster.

I want California to be as good as she used to be!

3. California has always been good
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 02:22 AM by CountAllVotes
It is these politicians we've had around the past decade+ like Wilson and Schwarzenegger that have totally screwed things up and good.

And, not to forget 8 years of Reagun. It is amazing my state has survived this onslaught of incompetent greed!

Gov. Brown has the insight and ability to move us forward. He truly is a visionary! We have nowhere to go but forward! :D :D :D

4. Is it time for single-payer?
The legislature passed it twice only to have it vetoed by Arnold. Will Brown sign it into law if it passes again?
