1. No one person cost us anything...
It was a group effort.

3. Democrats failure to reform the Filibuster did it.

Harry time and again failed to get 60. Not one vote lee way. But he could have got enough to introduce more rational Senate procedures

4. Obama didn't help.
White House left Pelosi to swing in the breeze with a lot of the legislation she got passed... even going so far as to encourage the Senate to gut provisions to "weaken" the progressive underpinnings of bills.

It isn't clear that running progressive would've won (or held onto) seats... but it'll never be clear as long as the White House and the Senate bottle up all progressivism before it can even come to a vote.

Gods forbid a strategy employed by FDR might be considered...

Nancy probably did too much good work for the White House's tastes...

5. Are you so sure passing more legislation would have increased our votes?
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 04:53 AM by dkf
Cap and trade would probably have been a big loser. HCR is still posting net unfavorables. What do you think Reid could have done a better job that would have gained votes for us?

I think it's more a case of do what you can and forget trying to keep your seat.

6. The fact that THEY took to the streets and WE sat on our asses and blogged didn't help either!
THEY attracted MSM cameras and WE got carpel tunnel syndrome!
