The Ideological Divide At DU

I have seen a lot of bickering at this site between progressives, liberals, socialists, moderates, et cetera. The economy has fallen and it's can't get back up. I really don't care which ideology has the cure.

I'm reminded of Deng Xiaoping's response when China was experimenting with market reforms and he was accused of abandoning socialism. He opined " I don't care what you call the cat as long as it catches the mouse."

Let's fix this economy...

after this election, Republicans will save the economy and Democrats will be too afraid to stand against them. They are gonna ram the Bush tax cuts for the rich through the House along with cuts to veteran's benefits, the department of education, and Liheap.

Unless, they are planning on actually governing. Something they've never done with any facility or willingness. Our side, led by our timid President, aided by his timid and self serving advisors has led a timid party. But the groundtroups, so disappointed by our timid leaders, we nonetheless got out and fought yet again. This would have been much worse without our fighting. Low education voters came out in force, angry but unsure of who to be angry at and rather than educate them, the Republicans and their idiot spawn, the Teabaggers took advantage of that low level of knowledge. So now, they get to try to govern and I will be on their ass every step of the way to do what the Americans really want, not what they choose to think we want.

We want jobs, we want high governmental spending to get us out of this recession and keep us from a full fledged depression, we want the wars ended and education and healthcare funded. And speaking of healthcare, we want the pathetic healthcare reform bettered, made stronger and more comprehensive, not gutted.

So, Paul Rand and your band of angry white men (and women) govern. And if you don't, you will be one term "civil" servants. Just because the idiots who elected you are idiots doesn't mean all of America is idiots and you have to govern over us all now. You don't get to hide your stupidity and anger in your self picked rallies. You talk to us all now and you will hear from us all. This part of the game is over and whoo hoo, you won. Well, enjoy because governing is much harder than playing with endless Citizen's United money and preening in front of self selected crowds. You won't stand on a single one of our heads without being impeached you stupid imp. We had eight years of people like you and we've been honed. We know how to handle your ilk. It's likely you'll wish you didn't win by the time this is over.

but it was already too late to undo the damage of 2000, and it only gets harder to fix things for every month that passes with the rich keeping their ill-gotten gains. After all, the richest 400 people in America will have another $30 billion in tax cuts that they can use in the next election to ensure that the tax cuts just keep on coming.
