It was not predestined that we were to lose some of of our most loyal, prophetic voices such as Russ, Alan and Joe.

How different it would be today IF WE HAD LISTENED to these 3 when we were making the decision on whether to sell out the public option in secret deals with corporate lobbyists.....

But after being marginalized by those that crafted the losing tactic of trying to sell corporatist pseudo-"reform" as true reform to the American people, these loyalists were given the impossible job of running for re-election, handcuffed by having to defend flawed legislation (legislation that would not have been fatally flawed had we elevated them to leadership rather than the role of marginalized prophets.)

If we don't learn that corporatist sell-out politics (and the abandonment of the people-based, true populism of Howard Dean) open the halls of power to right wing, pseudo-populist demagogues, we will not have a happy 2012, or future.
