All They Have To Do Now Is Govern.
Congratulations to the Republics and the Tealiban are in order this morning. Yes, friends, the dog has finally caught the car it's been chasing for the last couple of years. All that remains is for it to figure out what to do with the car now. I expect a good deal of tail-wagging and peeing on all four tires, followed by a celebratory butt-licking on the right shoulder of the road--but what then?

I'm prepared for two years of slapstick from our Hou$e Of Repre$entative$ as they try to walk the talk. I plan to be highly amused as their Rabble Rhetoric runs smack into the gravel-choked gears of gubmint.

Y'see, they got nothing. Except for their Billionaire Tax Cuts and that hot new video game Lynch Obama, they got nothing. Cut that runaway spending? Sure. Gonna start with the Defense Department? Um, no, can't do that--gotta stay strong against Terra, y'know. Social Security cuts? Well, not exactly. Medicare? Um…

I watched Chris Matthews disassemble some Republic woman the other night. He got right up in her carefully crafted face and asked her just where her kind was going to cut this runaway spending. He started with the biggest budget items and worked his way down; all she could do was motorboat: "but-but-but-but-but…" She had nothing. They got nothing--except that they're not Obama. They'll need a boatload of Shiny Things to keep roused-up Murkins from looking behind that curtain.

Boner and his brand new mongrel horde are going to have to throw up a seriously good smokescreen now, lest the Unwashed realize they've just voted in another bunch of do-nothings. I fully expect Articles of Impeachment to be brought against Obama because I just don't see a wave of good-paying jobs coming out of this Congre$$. Nor do I hear the economy roaring back.

Good luck, Red boys and girls. I eagerly await your plans to get this country back on the right track after the Democrats failed so miserably to clean up your mess in two years.

I am prepared to be entertained.

1. And the first thing on their plate will be the debt ceiling
They can't win: do the right thing, and they piss off the people who elected them. Do the wrong thing and the U.S. (and perhaps world) economy crumbles.

3. Don't forget all of the gagging on teabags. The GOP owns the teabagger idiots - this should be fun!

5. I expect 2 years of investigation by Congress into Obama
on multiple fronts.

At this point I think a complete shutdown will be the safest for us. :(

7. And invent a new math that will enable them to reduce the deficit
while extending the Bush tax cuts and continuing to feed the military industrial complex and all of their other corporate welfare masters.

I want to see them invent a new economic theory in which jobs will magically appear even while slashing the government spending component of GDP and while standing idly by while more and more jobs are shipped offshore during a recession.

If only we could live in THAT alternate reality!

8. Last night Wolf Blitzer repeatedly asked Eric Cantor which specific programs the GOP is going to cut
now they have the House.

As Cantor dodged the question he looked like he was taking a slow dump in his pants.

9. I dont think they stick to their word
I would love to see the Tea Party Reps come in and keep their word of promoting fiscal responsibility, but I don't see that happening. Both parties want to keep power, and will legislate with that in mind. Constituents will want to feel something. They want to see their taxes lowered, or actually get something for themselves. Well, lowering taxes is not a good option right now with our debt. Cutting some services is a good idea, but even though thats what the supporters claimed they wanted, they won't like it when it affects them. In the end, these tea partiers changed their stance once the mainstream Republican party came in. They will likely just push for tax cuts without much logic, and add to our deficit.
