All the pundits are calling for reaching across the aisle and working together. Problem is, that's a big part of what got us into this fix.

This isn't about left, right or center. It's about helping people who have lost jobs, homes, 401K's - people who have lost hope.

I think the President needs to acknowledge that people are voting their PAIN. He's heard them - and he's eager to work with the new Congress to address their pain and fears.

Come out with some STRONG proposals to address the loss of jobs/creation of real meaningful jobs - tax penalties for companies that send them overseas, rewards for those that bring them back.

Do NOT extend tax cuts for the rich. PERIOD. That's not compromise, that's capitulation. Ending tax cuts for the rich will help us bring down the DEFICIT.

Let's revisit healthcare reform: MEDICARE FOR ALL. Or at least 55 and older.

Announce the budget savings from getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan ASAP. Announce how that money will be redirected toward infrastructure rebuilding, high speed rail, green technology development - which will help JOBS and the environment.

Please, add your thoughts.

2. What I'd like him to say
Well...he won't and probably shouldn't say what I'd like him to say.

We all know that we are going to hear more of this bipartisan crap.

3. Since he's not my puppet, I don't indulge in these things
There's no way that election proved he did not go far enough to the left. The stupidest thing I've ever seen on this board is the notion that the Republicans win because we haven't gone far enough left. That's too stupid for words.

6. He should say "What, are you all nuts?????"
No, really he's just going to have to talk about feeling our pain and whatnot.

10. That he's heading left, and he's going back there.

He's going to pass every fucking progressive laws through the lameduck session, nuke the filibuster at this point, and make needed laws, and then re-establish the new and modified filibuster rule (thanks to Dems holding on to the Senate) before the next Congress gets sworn in. And raises taxes to the rich by FDR levels. Yes. FDR levels. And make it so that if they try to offshore, than it's double taxation.

That's my dream anyway.

12. Of course this is about left, right or center and until someone actually
acknowledges that FACT we won't be able to crush GOPukers in elections. I want him to apologize for splitting his party by calling out liberals toward the end of the election cycle. Stupid move and look what it got him. I personally don't know anyone that didn't vote (that I'm close to), but I do wonder how many liberals stayed home and didn't vote.

Obama, you are a great guy now start acting like it. Get hardline with the Repukes and show they are not in control.
