Knowing That The Repugs Were Going To Take Back The House Anyway....... |
|
today I'm now having second thoughts about my vote for my Blue Dog Dem congressman. Yesterday I posted my dilemma of whether or not I should vote to re-elect my Blue Dog Dem congressman or vote for the Repug. I was widely criticized by DU that I would even ask that question or have that dilemma. I was told 'bite your tongue' and vote for the Blue Dog - which I did. Now we're stuck with him for the next two years and quite possibly beyond that as well.
I'm thinking now that my district should have sent a message to him and all Blue Dogs and either voted him out or made his winning margin real slim - so that he would think twice about not supporting the President in the future.
The Repugs took control of the House anyway. We could have got rid of another Blue Dog without much more of a consequence than we already have with their takeover.
I'm interested in feedback on this post. And yes - I'm going to work very hard in 2012 to support a Progressive Dem for this seat and try to unseat this Blue Dog then - but we could have gotten rid of him this time with very little additional consequence.

1. I think we should have some coalition that targets one... |

And we all work to tear that one sacrificial candidate down as an exampled.
That minimizes loss of power and increases pressure.
