Can we get rid of the ridiculous "circle D" and go back to the proud donkey?
If this nation is going to go down in flames, (and the possibility of wresting it away from corporate control looks bleaker by the day) I'd much rather be a member of a proud Democratic party fighting to save it until the end, rather than one that throws fuel onto the fire.

This:

Is a demure, focus group-tested corporate logo. It's bland and spiritless, much like what we've seen of the "New Democratic" party.

This:

Symbolizes a party with fight, a party with the stubbornness and strength to carry the weight of this country on its back.

9. Very true. "Circle D" is very happy to sit alone in the corner...
put in its place by the little corporate prison it has drawn around itself.

The donkey, on the other hand, is having none of that.

76. There are three things I think of when I look at it
The first is that it is a meaningless bit of corporate pabluum that they must have paid a team of people to concoct it. I can imagine entire meetings trying to pick the color and attempting to make it as safe and inoffensive as possible. Safe. Like everything they do.

The second thing it reminds me of is a copywrite mark (you know, the little c in a circle). That sends exactly the message I would want for my Democratic party.

The third thing it makes me think of is a weird shaped target bullseye.

All in all this was a stupid and meaningless bit of rebranding that accomplished nothing.

and forgot the notion that IF people were given the choice between a coke that tasted like a pepsi and a pepsi they would pick the pepsi every time.

Yes...a very good comparison.

Besides it looks like a bullseye, with pro-war undertones.

It is, however, emblematic of the complete lack of originality and imagination by the president's administration, from top to bottom.

Dump the circle D, and return to being a Democratic Ass, Mr. President. You're not poet laureate. You're the president. Loosen your collar, take off your tie, and learn what it is like to work as an ass kicking Democrat.

If the Corporate Dems want to plaster it on everything they own - have at it. That image is not worth the plastic it's printed on & won't cross my threshold.

With word processing tools. And it mixes colors in a terrible way.

This is the future of America, like the revised Gap logo -- a nation no longer capable of fixing things or doing things properly to the benefit of all and not a few.
