Also we have two year to find some "real" democrats to run in 2012 to get rid of the "good old boys" club, the GOP! It's obvious to me that a lot of the vote last night was aimed at change! Like you said, nothing much is going to get done for the next two years, and republicans will have to either stay the same course they are on, helping the rich and the corporations, or start working with the president and doing what is right for the people. Now past history says they are going to keep fighting the president, and as has already been stated, the goal is making president Obama a one term president, so I don't think they will be doing much at all except going after the president, and that will not help them in 2012!
We also have to realize that there is going to be a whole lot of "fighting" within the republican party for the next two years. The mainstream republicans don't want the tea party taking over, and they sure as hell don't want Palin running in 2012! Rove has already ticked of Palin, and some of the other big shots in the party have also made comments in private that they don't want her running. If they can't control the tea party crowd, and Palin, they will be spending a whole lot of time trying to keep the party from imploding!
