:hangover:

I am glad a lot of those annoying Blue Dogs are gone. You know this teabagger congress will prove themselves utterly incompetent - nothing will get done and will be on them.

One of these days the people who continually vote against their best interests will get it.

I have to keep thinking that.

1. Here's hoping. And that could happen.

2. What good does it do for the nation to experience something again ...
if it doesn't retain any long-term memory?

3. Good point.
Also we have two year to find some "real" democrats to run in 2012 to get rid of the "good old boys" club, the GOP! It's obvious to me that a lot of the vote last night was aimed at change! Like you said, nothing much is going to get done for the next two years, and republicans will have to either stay the same course they are on, helping the rich and the corporations, or start working with the president and doing what is right for the people. Now past history says they are going to keep fighting the president, and as has already been stated, the goal is making president Obama a one term president, so I don't think they will be doing much at all except going after the president, and that will not help them in 2012!

We also have to realize that there is going to be a whole lot of "fighting" within the republican party for the next two years. The mainstream republicans don't want the tea party taking over, and they sure as hell don't want Palin running in 2012! Rove has already ticked of Palin, and some of the other big shots in the party have also made comments in private that they don't want her running. If they can't control the tea party crowd, and Palin, they will be spending a whole lot of time trying to keep the party from imploding!

4. The economy is an ocean liner
The economy doesn't change course quickly or easily.

If we assume the economy is going to slowly improve, because of the initiatives taken during 2008,
and I make this assumption, who gets the credit?

It won't be President Obama or the Democratic Congress of 2008.
President Obama and the Democratic Congress of 2008 have taken ownership of this high unemployment.

The economy will improve out of inertia.

The Tea Party people will claim it's their initiatives that give us any employment improvements that happen.
Whether it's true or false won't matter. They are good at yelling through a megaphone.
They will drown out others who disagree like they drowned out others at town hall meetings.

Please show some backbone, President Obama. Please show some spine.
Learn to use the bully pulpit. Learn to use the veto pen. Show some guts.

Don't be a wimp, President Obama. Learn to push back when bullies pick on you.
Learn to take credit. Don't let the bullies take credit for work you and good Democrats do.
