PLEASE try to clean up after your candidates - specifically, road-side "illegal" signs.
Unfortunately, a large percentage of our population is so ignorant that the only way they can vote is to go by what names they remember seeing while sitting at a stop light, texting, eating a Big Mac, smoking, and watching a DVD on the screen in the visor. The GOP owns this game, and damn near all of the election signs for the GOP this year were "illegals". I didn't see very many in private yards, even those of well-known Republicans. I think they were too embarrassed.

It is the same story every Christmas after an election. There are still GOP signs littering the roadways. The plastic blows off in February and the metal frame rusts. Come April, the mowers get damaged by the shit the GOP left in the ground. You would THINK that might bother teabaggers and other Republicans - it takes TAX MONEY to fix the mowers that their trash damaged!

Also unfortunate is the fact that Democrats are left with the choice of either placing their own "illegals" or letting the GOP own the "last sign I saw" idiots in the voting booth. There are few if any signs for Democrats left to litter the roadway by Thanksgiving, much less Christmas, but that takes effort.

I'm calling on everyone to do your share. If you see an "illegal" for a Democratic candidate and it is safe to do so, stop and throw it in the car. The paperboard signs are recyclable and the metal can either be saved for a future election or (what I do) taken to a recycling center with other scrap metal for cash. Sure, the sign frames aren't worth much by weight, but since I go pretty regularly anyway with other stuff I just take them along. I save the ones in good condition for future elections.

So lets be sure to clean up the roadways as another way to show our support for our candidates.

1. I pull Republican signs from the park across from our house. It's illegal.
I move Democratic signs to better locations.

3. Well that's at least within ethical limits. Still, right now we need to clean up.
We're better in political and social philosophy and without question in environmental attitudes. We don't want our candidates lumped in with the GOP polluters. They spend countless hours planting the damn things but won't lift a finger to pull them back up. They expect the local or state government workers to clear their illegal signs - BUT WAIT! Don't those people get paid by TAX MONEY!?!?!??! OOOOOHH-NOOOOOOOSSSS!!!

2. Call the campain headquarters of the person on that sign.
Tell them to get their ass out there and clean up their mess. I wish we had laws in place to fine these assholes for littering on public property. You know they won't be out there collecting their stupid signs.

4. Oh yeah, I would love such a thing. And nothing wimpy - something like $500/sign.
That would put a dent in the money the GOP gets from China.

6. I used today to spot them. I'll use tomorrow to pull them. It doesn't hurt to leave them up a day.
It also gives the planter the opportunity to "unplant" and take responsibility for their deposit. If you pull them up the first day that might implant the concept of "not my problem" in the people putting them there. It is best to nurture the responsibility by giving them the opportunity to handle it themselves. By tomorrow morning, they're fair game.
