I think it is fine that Boehner cried...
I have no problem seeing someone cry when they get emotional about the country or people in need. However, that was not the case here.

When talking about their win, he didn't cry.
When talking about what they would do (crickets), he didn't cry.
When talking about the poor and those who need help (curiously missing), he didn't cry.

No, he didn't cry for people in need, for the love of his country, or for the Republican victory.

He cried when he began to talk about himself. He cried because he will be the Speaker of the House. He cried for himself and his yearning for power.

3. He cried because pretending to govern will cut into his golfing and
sometimes votes go long and he misses the beginning of happy hour.

5. He will, no doubt, characterize the event as how overwhelmed by "the Holy Spirit" he was so he cried

6. LOL . . . That's definitely it
He was already booted from the leadership once when the 'Contract with America' crew got their walking papers from the Repub establishment . . . now I'm sure he sees himself as a phoenix.

8. I have no problem with him crying either.
But it kind of seemed like it was coming from him being drunk and not an "influence-free" cry. But crying because you are happy is fine. We need to get past the macho bullshit.

9. This FUBAR crying of his doesn't say much for his character.
I don't think even Nixon would cry over "joy" of winning like this.

11. it's not the crying itself that bothers me, just that he's a false, lying phony...
and you're right, his tears aren't for anyone but himself. If he were someone who was truly dedicated to this country and cried because he thought he was going to have an opportunity to make a difference, I would probably be moved by his tears. There's nothing wrong with showing sincere emotion. But coming from him, I find it repulsive.
