WTF ?! - Most Voters Think House GOP Likely To Disappoint By 2012

Hold the celebration. Most voters expected Republicans to win control of the House of Representatives on Election Day, but nearly as many expect to be disappointed with how they perform by the time the 2012 elections roll around.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds, in fact, that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters think it is at least somewhat likely that most voters will be disappointed with Republicans in Congress before the next national elections. That includes 38% who say it is Very Likely.

Thirty-three percent (33%) say it’s unlikely most voters will feel that way about the new majority party in the House, but only five percent (5%) say it’s Not At All Likely.

Voters overwhelmingly believe the new Republican-controlled House is likely to vote to repeal the unpopular national health care law. They’re less confident that taxes and government spending will go down with the GOP in charge of the House.

or they don't feel secure in the jobs they're in. Nothing got better during the first two years of this administration, so voters - predictably - are lashing out at the President's party. Add in a healthy dose of racism and the typical apathy of the Democratic midterm vote and we got pasted.

5. I am looking at this as KARMA

The GOP screwed up the Economy and now they are saddled with it, and they will be expected to deliver. The Party of No will have to actually do some work, and that means compromise. I think the American people are teaching those in Washington, stop this Partisan Bullshit and get to work. Otherwise I cant make sense of this.

I think they quoted 53 percent -- of all people who voted last night -- don't have much confidence in the GOP. Makes sense. Few to no Dems would say they did and plenty of Tea Partiers love to hate on the Republican establishment as well. A lot of people just think that voting for the other guys will magically make their lives better, even if they don't particularly like the other guys. 'Change' really has little meaning nowadays.

11. Well, they hated the "status quo."

So many stayed home, and others voted for the "other" who happened to be a right-winger. There is cynicism with both parties. The house GOP can be used as a foil in any case, IF the Democrats get their heads out of their asses and think strategically. Plus the "Tea Party" will demand impeachment, which will galvanize and unify the center and left and through the GOP into disarray. I WELCOME such a fight!

I vote Democratic as the lesser of two evils.

Clearly, there are many who vote Republican as the lesser evil, but they are under no delusions that the Republicans will actually do what they expect them to do. In that respect, I can actually relate to them.

Most Tea party and Republicans act as though their party is some kind of sports team that needed to win. When Bush won his second term we were all laughed and told to "GET OVER IT". I mean, some of them ran around screaming "We're Number One!"

If that is not a sports fan mentality, I don't know what is. Why did they vote Republican? Cause its "their TEAM MAN!! YOU DON'T ROOT AGAINST YOUR TEAM!...."

25. It makes sense to me.

Voters were unhappy with the people in charge--the Democrats. So they voted for the opposition. They're not sure the GOP is up to the job, and suspect they probably aren't, but at least they're not the ones in charge now.

Frankly, that had a lot to do with how the Dems won Congress in 2006 too.
