Don't feel sorry for the "Centrist" Blue Dogs who lost their seats.
They will be well rewarded for their service to the BIG Corporations and RICH vested interests who owned them.
They will ALL be re-employed at a good pay hike.
Most will be selling "access", and directly representing the very same Corporations who payed them while they were supposed to be representing The People.
They will never know a day of discomfort.

It is NOT like when YOU lose your job.

"If we don't fight hard enough for the things we stand for,
at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them."

--- Paul Wellstone

So we have to do something with it now.

4. I think that this is wrong appoach.
We do indeed need such members of our caucuses. The problem lies elsewhere, in my opinion. We need to stop being beholden to the big banks and finance capital.

..."stop being beholden to the big banks and finance capital",
then we need to STOP giving them a seat at the table INSIDE the Democratic Party Leadership.

John Edwards (warts and all) said it perfectly, "If you give them a seat at the table, they will eat ALL the food."

10. I don't want them seated at the table, I want them waiting on it.
I want our "moderates" to be treated just as nicely as the Republicans treats its "moderates." But I am not averse to running candidates to win a warm body that will vote right a lot of the time. We need our "Mike Castles" just as does the GOP.
