On a state level, at least here in North Carolina, nothing could be further from the truth. We went from both state houses being controlled by Democrats, to having both state houses controlled by Republicans. The first time that's happened in this state in 100 years. Let the gerrymandering begin. Let the cuts in social programs (especially those that deal with children) begin. Let the environmental suffering begin. Fun times for everyone.
