Bush tax cuts for the rich will stay.
Please, please be able to come back soon and tell me I was wrong.

But I don't think I'm going to be.

3. I foolishly engaged in some wishful thinking, yes.
I was willing to consider the possibility that Obama might keep his word.

I'm still willing to consider that possibility, in fact - but very skeptical it will happen.

6. Perhaps Obama will even tack on a few percentage points...
...in the spirit of "compromise" and "bipartisanship" and all.

7. Can't they buckle down and use these last two months to extend them only for those under 250,000?

9. If I was the WH I would stall and let them expire for everyone
Force the GOP to take up tax cuts next year, then negotiate either a lesser cut on the top brackets, or even no cuts on a higher income level, like $1m+ stays at 39%.

11. I Like That Strategy...
I just feel bad for the non-rich. It will hurt them more than the rich and the Repugs will use that against the Dems.

10. Stay? They are expiring.
