Will Harry Reid remain the Senate Majority Leader??
At this point, I love to see Dick Durbin, Chuck Schumer, or Pat Leahy.

4. Hear hear.
I'd like to see a REAL Democrat rather then a DINO.

3. Yes
no way anyone tries to take him out of it. Sorry, I am not a fan of his but it is extremely unlikely that anyone would think of trying to replace him.

Gosh he's awful sorry about it, but he just doesn't have the votes.

I mean, Harry, tone it down a bit...

10. I'd like for him to tell us WHY we don't have the votes. We just don't have the votes
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 05:05 PM by kenny blankenship
Why is that Harry? Exactly WHO is holding out and sabotaging the Democratic agenda THIS TIME??? Maybe if we knew we could persuade Senator X to come in with the team for the Big Win?

But then that's why they selected you for the "Leadership" right? Because you're so pliant? So discreet? Like an undertaker for the Democratic platform.

although I'm happy he was reelected, it's time for him to step down as speaker.

11. Anyone but him
Well, maybe not ANYONE, but almost anyone.

He's been one lousy, whimpy, ineffectual leader.

Give us someone with some guts, a big mouth and it wouldn't hurt if they actually bought into most of the Democrat's ideals. (I'm talking to you, Mr. Pretty-damned-iffy-on-choice Reid)

13. Durbin would be the best bet.
Schumer can be a pit bull, but come the 2012 elections, his ties to Wall Street and banking might be embarrassing to other Democratic senatorial campaigns.

Leahy is sort of colorless.

He's scrappy in an election surviving when there's no reason for him to survive, but dammit all can't some of that shine through as Majority Leader?

16. I'll bet the Republicans like this Democratic House Majority Leader
Maybe Reid will be fired up after this election, but he can't move legislation unless he's prepared to having an organizing rules fight for the next Congress. If Reid, Obama, and Senate Democrats are not willings to have this fight, nothing will happen for the next 2 years.

I've always wondered, why Reid? He's too meek for that role.

he mentioned both Pelosi and Reid. Maybe that was code for new speaker coming down the pike.
