I am beyond sad tonight...
My best friend is on the move again. Two years ago, she lost her house, because she could not find a job. Now, she is without a job again, and being evicted from her apartment.

She is moving in with her single daughter and two small children. She is grateful; at least, to have a place to go.

Once again, my garage is filled with her memories...odds and ends from vacations, nic nacs from a better time. I will donate them to Amvets. I did talk her into keeping her mother's mementos; though she will have to figure out where to store them.

At 57, her prospects are bleak. She has a ton of experience in many fields, but no degree. She is from a time where degrees were not so important. Chances are, she knows far more than many college graduates, and has the experience.

What becomes of us? The older, unemployed Americans. We still value our independence. We do not choose to rely on our children, who are having a rough time themselves. No income,no health insurance, no one who can afford to help us.

Tell me, all you moral, better than thou, Conservatives....what happens to us?

1. It seems like we are back to the Great Depression.
My mother always spoke very fiercely about her grandmother who was forced into your friend's circumstance during the 30's. I hope your friend is able to put the pieces back together. And thank goodness she will ultimately have Social Security and Medicare to help her. The 50 somethings in her situation are many. It's really a crime. Thanks for doing what you can to help her.

2. For you and your friends I hope they find Nirvana, in whatever form it is for them.

Weather it be a job, or help from wherever it might be available.

The 'better then thou' thoughts irritate me also, but many use the concept of 'having flaws' to justify hurting other people. That irritates me more.

Everyone will learn the meaning of sin in my view.

And for the unjust situations causing sadness and tears for you and your friends, I hope for you the best.

But if someone were to ask what happens, many have spoken of that, but what is 'bad'?
