He keeps repeating this idiotic lie that there's no "middle" anymore.
Technically he's not far off though. You can count the actual liberals on one hand after last night's losses. From there it jumps to the far right DLC/BlueDogs, then to the Batshit Insane teabaggers.

1. What we call "liberal" these days |

would have passed for the center when I was a kid.
I'd say the American eagle has been flopping around with no left wing for nearly 40 years now.
The last perceptibly leftist Presidential candidate was probably George McGovern (although some would argue for Mondale).

The blue dogs were the big losers last night. Their caucus was slashed in half from 46 to 23 for as Harry Truman famously said "Given the choice between a Republican and someone who acts like a Republican, people will vote for the real Republican all the time"

3. That is just stupid, the Blue Dogs come from conservative |
|
areas and if they weren't Blue Dogs they wouldn't have been elected in the first place. You are going to have to tolerate your Blue Dogs if you ever want to win a majority in Congress. There just aren't enough seats on the coasts to ever get a majority. In this district a Barney Frank or a Dennis Kucinich couldn't get 10%, that's just a fact you aren't going to change.

4. I Don't Have To Tolerate Anything |

And I certainly don't have to tolerate a faux republican. That would be stupid. And it seems the voters in their districts agree with me.

5. They do agree with you |
|
They are Republicans and don't want anyone from our party representing them.
That was easy.
