Dear World, Please boycott everything American
including those from multinationals which are partially American.

Our corporate overlords are going to do their best to get American to expand its contribution to global warming instead of helping to slow down or reverse the problem.

The American voters are clearly unable to solve the problem without your help.

Thank you.

9. yes it may be
but a huge worldwide pushback on the US will have more impact than a mere voter.
Personally I am not going to spend an unnecessary penny.
Let the US wallow for a couple of more years and we might force change for the better.
The delusional with have to realize that the GOP doesn't have any answers.

15. What I love are those who believe others should boycott what they believe should be boycotted
and then get all sanctimonious and self-righteous about it. "Well I would never set foot in Walmart". But then there are DUer who maybe live in a rural area where there is no place else to go or they can afford to go yet they are looked down upon as not really be a dedicated Liberal.

My philosophy is that boycotts generally need to be specifically focussed and local to be really effective. And I would never think less of someone if they found it necessary to patronize or buy something I believed should be boycotted. That is my choice.

24. Specifically focused and local...
I think that's the key, really.

A couple of dozen people on DU (who can agree to do so) boycotting WalMart...or, in one case, there were calls to boycott entire states a while back...

really really stupid in terms of making an impact, if that's what people were intending.

The best that can happen is that people boycott wherever they boycott with the intention of making themselves feel better.

Like you said, if it makes them feel better about anything...hey...fine.

But expecting others to do the same thing and then accusing them of not caring...well that's just plain obnoxious.

27. well you can clean under the bed
but apparently we don't have the slightest ability to control who is elected.

Florida elects a person convicted of $1 billion fraud of the peoples money to its highest office.
All I can hope is this time he defrauds Floridians instead of the US treasury, but I doubt it.

28. If this is about Florida
and about how it elected a fraudster to office, then maybe we can dispense with ruining the entire country and only ruin Florida instead.

We'll add Florida to the list of states we should boycott. That way we can stick it to people who didn't vote for the fraudster as well as to those who did, and call it "collateral damage".
