46. We were posting about that today .
Not that Keith was going to use that, we didn't know. But facebook has a page up asking the same thing. I think we should all call as many times a day as we can and ask the same thing. No good to email, they junk em. And I found out the do the same with letters. You either have to go in person or call. I think the chinless wonder who like hands in the pants McConnell should be called daily.

6. Aquabuddhaman has no intention of improving the job situation
and I quote directly from many of his speeches including his very strange victory speech last night: "Government does not create jobs. It is up the the entrepreneurs. The sooner we realize that, the better off we will be."

Do you hear that Amurika? He has no intention of helping you get a job. None. Zip. Nada.

53. He, like all Capitalists, want the labor market to be brutal
He wants workers DESPERATE

Willing to work for less than the competition

There is a section in Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath that explains it all

I call this the $10 hooker solution

He, like most of the GOP, wants hookers to only be $10

How do you do that, make the hookers as desperate as possible

likely.

That's why I would like to see him in a position to be able to really let loose, but I don't see that happening.

And I will also say that Grayson never spoke up for me and the millions of poor people. He could have used his strength to do that, but he never did. :(

42. that's just not right
Not fair at all. :( What a rude reward for a job well done.

I think "What we have here is a failure to communicate" is the motto of the 2010 elections. So much good was done in the past two years, but although Democrats should have been crowing over their achievements we never heard much about them over the din of the other side's obnoxious and fact-free slogans.

57. From the GOTV calls I made for him, I believe it's the misinformed who are to blame.
He voted for health care reform and his opponent managed to scare senior citizens because of that. I went to their debate and the red-shirted opposition was there in force, outside with signs, disrupting during the debate and standing up and walking out early because the congressman had the last word. And they were mostly senior citizens! What part of health care reform don't you get?! And we know that older voters tend to come out for the midterms... :(

And I totally agree with you about the message. On Lawrence O'Donnell tonight, they listed the accomplishments of this administration, so far, but most people are completely unaware of them, since they're not publicized, like the invisible tax cuts. And when I called people, many said that they were still "undecided..." And this was on the weekend before the election! So I'd ask if I could answer their questions, but the typical response was "I'm fine" and a hang up. :banghead:

30. Hmmm, not sure about this
1) Republicans have not taken over yet, it doesn't happen till January.

2) If the unemployment rate starts dropping over the next two years (which it probably will without any help from the Repugs), this tagline will backfire.

He could have been more creative.

52. that's not the issue
the moment 7pm PST hit on November 4, 2008 and the west coast put him over the top in electoral votes, fux began the meme that this was a center right country. The signal had not made it around the world before that shit was coming out of their mouths.

It doesn't matter if it's preposterous to say that. It's the perception being created in the telling of it. Some of them are still in office and there are still many things to do before power/control does flip.

We stick a failing economy on the thugs because the ways they want to handle it is to go back to the failed bush policies. They have nothing but retread. Badly worn retread. NOW is the time to start the drum beat--when they're still resting and bloviating on their laurels, thinking that we're not coming for them--that we have no enthusiasm or stomach for a fight.

This stuff we're talking about doing here is called "chumming the water".

of any of the policies that were put in place before the thugs took control, then when they do pop up claiming it as their own, you strike them with "you accepted evil Stimulus money" as "earmarks" for your district and "pork" for your "pet projects" and your "rich corporate friends"... "it's more of the same and the deficit is blown for generations to come".

you can turn anything into a device.

48. AND... that is the Q we should all be asking ... not whether anyone is "finding" a job.....
because there are NO jobs --

We have to overturn these trade agreements --

and use what resources we do have not for expanding our presence in Afghanistan --

$500 million+ for Embassy there remodeling -- to EXPAND GREEN JOBS IN AMERICA!!

Not nuclear power plants -- where we're subsidizing the industry with tens of billions

in loans -- but actual GREEN JOBS!!

Thanks KO!

Posted by a friend on FB:

The Republicans won a bunch of seats. Does that mean the economy is now fixed? Is my 401k is going to be worth the paper its printed on? Is my neighbor's house now worth more than they owe? WHAT!?!? What do you mean I have to WAIT!??! I WANT IT ALL FIXED NOW!!!!! Oh, that's right, it took that Republican president 8 ye...ars to completely tank the economy, I guess I can give this Republican house a few days to fix it.
