You know what... I came back and started to post again after a long time gone from here
and I actually thought this morning, after it all sunk in, that DU would begin to gel... and we'd all focus our disgust where it belonged.

But today, its still all, 'blame this part of us, blame that part of us, we're too this, we're not enough that'

Sometimes, this place really sucks.

Republicans = them

Democrats = us

How freaking hard is that?

4. Sorry, but there are some here who wish to spin this loss as an "act of god"
And if we fail to learn the real lessons of this defeat, we are doomed to repeat it in 2012.

10. Do you mean the *actual* pragmatic DUers?
Or the ones you think are pragmatic?

5. Sorry, you have the wrong "us" and "them".
Political class = them
Working class = us

The working class is desperately flailing around looking for someone - anyone - to be on their side, and they will keep switching their votes in the desperate hope that this time the roulette wheel will pay off.

If betting on the Dems had actually paid off for the working class, we wouldn't have had the results we had last night.

THAT is the simple truth.

Dems don't need "party unity". They need to stand up for the working class or join ranks with the Republicans and give up. Get a platform or go home.

13. Nailed it.
It's still taking a lot of hard partisans in both parties a looooong time to figure this out, while working class America drowns more every day.

15. Working class? You missed the memo
we are all MIDDLE CLASS... from the billionaires all the way to the janitor making 25K a year.

And that my dear is part of the problem.

When people ask me I tell them I AM WORKING CLASS. I have had people look at me askance.
