Hey! If we can get rid of the rest of the Blue Dogs, we'll only be down about 80 seats!

Let's go for it - I'm sure we can make up for those seats somewhere else.

Perhaps we can annex France?

:D

2. How about we get more progressive candidates...
who actually want to help the President and other Dems pass legislation?

7. That won't be hard.
The question is is if they can win seats in red and purple areas in sufficient numbers.

11. Lawrence O'Donnell just broke down the electorate:
40% conservative

40% moderate

20% liberal

Can we win with progressives in the areas that are tilted even more toward conservatives/moderates that you are describing?

18. And that breakdown varies state by state and district by district.
Liberals would have a hard time winning anywhere if that breakdown was uniform throughout the nation.

19. So, following that logic - there are a lot of conservative areas that the Dems need to win to regain
control of the House. Is it possible to control the House without any Blue Dog type conservative Democrats?

3. If we had Doc Brown's DeLorean
..we could annex 18th century France. Then we would have no corporatists, teabaggers or blue dogs. ;)

4. you can sure take my senator (Warner) - he consistently sides with business over people
and anyhow - if freaking 60 seats were useless to Dems in the Senate - then who cares if we "only" have 51 now?

Spineless is as spineless does.

(and yes, I did vote for my Dem representative (Periello), who unfortunately lost.

9. I think I did the math wrong - are there like 30 Blue Dogs left? If so we'd be down over 100 seats
Actually, Lawrence O'Donnell is breaking down the need for independent voters to win elections now.

Interesting timing.

I say if Too Big To Fail can get a freebee, so can we! Ya that comment cannot be coincidental.

17. I held my nose and voted for Shuler a third time.
And,since the Dems lost the House, I kind of wish I hadn't.

Not here to participate in a popularity contest - just would like people to think about what alternatives we have to the system in the US the way it exists today.

16. Can we ever control Congress again without Democrats from conservative districts?
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 09:27 PM by HughMoran
This is a very serious question.

Is it possible for the Democrats to regain control of Congress given the demographics of many of these conservative areas without any Blue Dog Congresspeople?
