They are committed absolutely to Permanent War against us, but also, there is a Permanent Revolution at work inside their own party, to replace those who are willing to bend and accommodate and those who get too comfortable in power with True Believers and new blood. Viguerie has been part of that since before Reagan. The party ideology may make no sense and it may result in chaos and destruction on a global scale, but it is a set of beliefs transmitted over time and guarded by Defenders of the Faith like Viguerie who work to keep it pure for decades. They don't just worship Compromise and Process as a substitute religion. They don't give a fuck about process - they'd happily substitute a bayonet for process. Compromise is the dirtiest word in their lexicon. It's not just some buttoned down nihilism out of a mail order catalog they're peddling over there. They've got solid traditional values of racism, militarism, theocracy and corporate fascism too. They're not just out of step with the 21st century, they are still defying the 20th century. They really mean it, and they keep the edge sharp on that meaning over time through a never ending "civil war", fought against their own kind who get too cozy with how Democrats think and talk.

Say what you want to about the tenets of National Socialism, at least it had an ethos.
