Is not it really a product of ratings and entertainment industry? Look at Glenn Beck, John Stewart, Rush Limbaugh, or Colbert. These are the guys that most people tune into to get their news. They draw the biggest rallies.

Why do you think Sarah Palin is in the news all the time? Because she is a ratings hit.

I am afraid the same was true about Obama before he got elected. Or Hillary. Maybe people are right and MSM does shove candidates down our throats but then again they would not be advertising them had they not been huge fan favorites.

With respect to Obama, maybe he was voted in for being an outsider and wanting to change how the government was ran. Smart campaign rhetoric but in reality you can not run Washington from the outside.
