All of us that came to this site in 2001 and 2004 know the feeling of defeat

It's a familiar one, and we overcame it all to go on and win historic battles. Then we relaxed and started fighting and arguing with each other.

For all of you who are still shell shocked after yesterday: It used to be worse and we fought back. Let's not slip down any further. Stand our ground.

2004 was especially hard for me. I voted a month before deploying to Iraq for second time, hoping to get Kerry elected, take back House and Senate with this overwhelming feeling that the anti-war vote was going to prevail. I wasn't doing it for myself. I was going to do another year in Iraq no matter who won that fall. But I did it for the soldier who was going to deploy a year later and never return home. We failed, we were depressed and we wondered if there was anyone out there that can make the slide stop.

Howard Dean stepped up to the plate. Are we gonna get another leader like Dean or are we gonna keep on sliding. It's up to us.

Thank you DU.

1. Even though I was not here then...
I recognize the truth of what you say...

We will stand our ground, and we will not slip down to defeat...

We will turn as a group, and the enemy will be ours.

Recommended.

What upsets me is the blatant lying on TV, used to hurt people.

Then again, I figure if people don't correct things, then those that want to drive it down should be allowed to. Either way it is not status quo, and either way it corrects the problem.

6. True, we came back from the dead just like the
Rethugs did yesterday.

I was a Deaniac then and I love Dr Dean now ...he was a great leader for a party out of power. But he's not president now and I don't believe he ever could have been president.
