Wait, so the party that kicked you in the nuts everytime you compromised with them..
..you NOW say the way forward is to compromise with them even MORE?

Do you not read newspapers? Did you not just see what happened to your party at the hands of the people you compromised with? Do you WANT to be a one-term President?

I know that someone will tell me that this is some 9th level jujitsu mind-chess, but after the ASS KICKING we just got, I'm sorry but I ain't buyin'...

You tried playing nice and look where it got you...remember what Einstein said about doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result?

Mr President, with the best love in the world for your cerebral approach to governance I do believe it is time to get your Samuel L. Jackson on, drop the nuanced bullshit and kick some muthafucking ass...

Don't get mad, get even...

Thanks for listening..

14. Well we have two Democratic senators AND
this is a perfect example of what is going on. One is kick ass and he does a hell of a job..Franken...the other is meek mild doesn't open her mouth and rakes in money Kolbuchar. See what I mean if we all had Democratic senators like Franken we might have kicked republican ass long before this.

2. After 6 months in office they should have realized this. They didn't realize it then, they didn't
realize it when we lost Kennedy's seat, and they don't realize it now

I hate to say it but those in control of the Democratic party are a bunch of losers, and I don't mean that in the sense that they lost the election, I mean that in the sense that it is questionable what they stand for

6. Abused spouse syndrome????
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 08:47 AM by BrklynLiberal
this is a reference to any person who, because of constant and severe domestic violence usually involving physical abuse by a partner, becomes depressed and unable to take any independent action that would allow him or her to escape the abuse. The condition explains why abused people often do not seek assistance from others, fight their abuser, or leave the abusive situation. Sufferers have low self-esteem, and often believe that the abuse is their fault. Such persons usually refuse to press criminal charges against their abuser, and refuse all offers of help, often becoming aggressive or abusive to others who attempt to offer assistance. Often sufferers will even seek out their very abuser for comfort shortly after an incident of abuse.

I am heartsick to hear that in the first press conference after the election, the President is STILL talking compromise....when Mitch McConnell stated that very day that the repuke's agenda was to ensure that Obama be a one-term President.

If I was one of the "good guys"..like Russ Feingold, I would be bitterly disappointed in the way this administration undermined everything I had ever worked for.

Excellent analysis here.

7. He's setting himself up for a big loss in 2012 with a conciliatory attitude.
He has to fight or be slaughtered.

If he holds out his hand in peace again he will be ridiculed by more than just his enemies.

Average Americans admire a fighter, they don't admire a polite intellectual.
(I do but I'm not average.)

Unfortunately he has never displayed a pugnacious attitude so I'm not sure he has it in him.

Either he fights for us or we will have to suffer another horrific Republican administration in 2012.

10. maybe that's what he wants? Didn't he say something about being a one term pres?
That was back when they still HAD the majority. The next two years will probably give us an indication of how strong a feeling that was.

But... What I hope is that Pres Obama said he'd work with the "Other Side" for the cameras only...

I hope, behind the scenes, he's ready to fight..

Just my 2 cents.. and I'm Canadian so my voice doesn't really count...

9. Bingo.
Even though I vote every single time, I feel it doesn't do anything anymore to advance representation of me and my family. There is only one possible explanation for this.

11. In my opinion
They should slightly moderate their agenda, and then pin the fact that nothing is getting done on republicans who refuse to compromise for the good of the country. Also, they should tie everything in the agenda to defense spending bills, particularly supplemental funding for the wars, and then as republicans why they hate soldiers so much.

Its a bit of a dirty trick, but I think that if they can lay blame on republicans for bringing government to a grinding halt, people might come around a bit. Its hard to say though, since people these days tend to ignore the past 30 years of history and what's happened whenever republicans have been in control.

15. Are we talking about liberals and Democrats or Democrats and Republicans?
Republicans kicking Democrats in the nuts, who in turn kick liberals in the nuts is an interesting visual.
