Obama drops plan to limit global warming
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 09:04 AM by Fresh_Start
By DINA CAPPIELLO, Associated Press Dina Cappiello, Associated Press – Thu Nov 4, 6:33 am ET

WASHINGTON – Environmental groups and industry seem headed for another battle over regulation of greenhouse gases, as President Barack Obama said he will look for ways to control global warming pollution other than Congress placing a ceiling on it.

So he's capitulating on the threat of them holding their global warming deniers fest.

5. Not true. He is dropping mandatory cap, but said he would push for green industries that limit
global warming.

Given the way the US Senate reacted when we had 59 senators, how do you think we can pass something when we only have 53, including Joe Manchin? It would be nice if we could, but sadly, it is not going to happen.

13. I would have to read the question and answer.

It is clear that a bill cannot pass right now, so there is nothing bad with looking for solution to improve the situation in the meantime, WHILE continuing to fight for a cap-and-trade bill.

If he said that, I am fine. If he said that he was abandoning the goal altogether, I disagree.

7. My apologies to all Obama supporters
This is another step in a long line of steps to 'go along and get along', 'bi-partisanship', and on and on...

Like the lady at a Q&A, I'm tired of defending My President. I love the man, his family, everything about him but now it's becoming impossible for me to keep wiping the shit off my head. I'm sorry. YES WE CAN, HOPE AND CHANGE ... That's what I and others signed up for - not this.

Going off topic a bit - I had just tuned into politics when Clinton became President. How did he deal with the 'bi-partisanship'? Perhaps someone well versed in the Clinton years could start a new OP.
