Suppose the Democrats agreed to extend all the tax cuts in return for Republicans voting for
the economic recovery plan. Do you think had this been done the Democrats still would have lost the House of Representatives?

As it looks now, the Bush tax cuts are going to be extended for everyone. I don't agree with keeping them for the top 2% but maybe if we had done so, we wouldn't have lost this election.

1. The majority of this country wanted the tax cuts for the rich to expire.
The fact we didn't point that out is probably one of the reasons we lost the election. I still don't get this, the decision to not fight for this made absolutely no sense.

6. Suppose if Obama said "Are you guys serious about deficit reduction or are you just blowing smoke"
What if the 'compromise' were Tax Cuts extended for the middle class but not the Rich, because it will blow a big hole in the deficit.

3. Let's take a page from the marketing dept of Wall mart and tell
the very rich that if they want to do business in our American Market they need to pay our price which is the same as it was under Clinton. If they want the profit that a huge consumer base gives them, they can not pass it up. They should pay what we want.We have the upper hand we do not have to sell cheap.

They will not go away. They want our market.

It's our economy. We do not have to bend over and take it. We have the right to set the rules so that we profit. They cannot give up on the bargain to prosper in the US. They play - they pay.

4. Screw that, if tax cuts help the economy just eliminate taxes
altogether. Why not just double down and call for the elimination of income tax for everyone? Of course I know we need money to run the government but according to the RW nuts cutting taxes always leads to more actual dollars being placed into the treasury. So why not just cut the tax to 1%? Because it won't work and anyone with half a brain knows it, but hey, you might win an election.

5. Nothing anyone could do would fix the economy instantly...
There is no istant gratification.

Republians would not have voted for it because a slightly better economy wasn't in their interest. They needed misery, poverty, and anger to get back in power.

The econmoy was a major casue of this election loss, and there was nothing we could do about that.
