Most of the votes still out are in King County where Patty Murray is running away with the vote and she already has a 27,000 vote lead with 74% of the vote counted.

Because they know whomever wins will challenge the count and why not get it right the first time? Accuracy over speed.

The numbers you see are projections for how many ballots were completed and mailed.
Many of these are still making their way through the post office.

Both sides have lawyers ready to roll and Rossi and the RNC would love nothing better than to try to steal or delay the process as long as possible - the RNC would view it as payback for Franken and Rossi, well he's WA's perpetual snake oil candidate.

Best to take time now and avoid problems (and a much longer wait) down the road.

8. Understood - but I still think they have enough info to call this one. It won't change the actual

outcome so there is no issue of "waiting down the road." News agencies can call an election - it does not affect the official outcome.
