boner: 'The American People have spoken...'
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 12:19 PM by Subdivisions
Isn't it strange how suddenly "The American People have spoken..." is something that deserves attention and respect from the right?

Where was that acceptance and respect for "The American People have spoken..." by the goop when Dems kicked their asses in 2006 and 2008?

4. Good point, and McConnell's arogance about how the people want Dem's to move to the right
where the Repubs are is absolutely disgusting. They didn't take over everything only the House, but their tone says alot about how they will not compromise at all.

5. We need to get the word out. Boehner does not speak for all
Americans. He speaks for half of the 40% of Americans
who voted.

10. It's no shocker. It's part of the right-wing mindset.
Make no bones about it, the right is a religious hierarchy that broaches no dissension. At the top are the leaders who are the only one entitled to properly interpret such things as the will of God or what was said when the "People have spoken". This top-down mentality is a fertile ground for the planting of fascism and we see many of the techniques used by historical accounts of facism being incorporated into the right-wing ideology.

11. Repubs = "will of the people", Dems = "mob rule"
This is the oldest trick in their book... Bush was a fearless leader because he didn't listen to polls, yet Obama's supposed to, even when a minority of the people are opposed to his policies, because that minority still represents "millions of Americans" and so on...

13. What's stranger is that..
..President Obama has about a 20% larger approval rating than Congress (including Republicans) yet, somehow, this election is a rejection of the Presidents agenda.

15. True, why didn't Boner have the Rs vote for everything the Administration wanted?
When the people had spoken? The Rs only listen when the people tell them what they want to hear.
