"Given the choice between a Republican
and someone who acts like a Republican, people will vote for the real Republican all the time"

Harry S Truman

That in my opinion sums up Tuesday's results.

2. Given the choice between a Republican
and a bar of soap, I would vote for the bar of soap all the time.

3. What context did he say that in?
It makes no sense.

Then people prefer real Republicans. The Republicans should win then, since they are preferred.

Democrats don't march in lockstep, which is good, so I'm told.

Why don't people vote for the real Democrat instead of the fake one?

4. It sure did in my state
The solid liberal won a solid victory. The mushy middle Democrat squeaked out a victory in a close race. The conservative Democrat got defeated.

5. NO!
You have obviously not been reading DU and are out of the loop on the new rules. Allow me to recite some of them:

1. Every Democrat ran a flawless campaign.
2. Everything the Democrats did during the last two years was as good as it could possibly be, and couldn't have been better.
3. Every Democrat had ample funds to run with.
4. Every conservative Democrat was perfectly justified in running away from the Democratic record for the last two years.
5. Money dumped into the campaigns from unaccountable, anonymous outside sources had nothing to do with any Democrat losing.
6. You're not supposed to feel bad about any Democratic loss.
7. You're supposed to feel bad about conservative Democrats losing in conservative districts.
8. You're not supposed to celebrate progressive and liberal Democrats winning anywhere because their victories were inevitable.
9. Grayson and Feingold lost, so there.
10. It's amusing to see DUers pissed about Democratic losses, particularly when the candidate lost by running away from the Democratic record.

More to follow, I'm sure.
