Michael Moore's advice to Pres. Obama

Director/activist Michael Moore dissected President Obama's problems in Washington and offered advice on how to win back voters in 2012. He was on the set with Lawrence last night, and he delivered a warning message to the president: get it together or you'll be out of a job.

"Here's what doesn't get: when your opponent states clearly that our number one job in the next two years is to make sure you don't have a second term, our number one job is to defeat you and to embarrass you, you don't respond with kumbaya, let's hold hands," said Moore.

"He doesn't understand is that they are going to go after him relentlessly. And they're going to call him a socialist or a Kenyan or a tribesman. If he responds weakly, like a weakling, they won't be calling him Mr. President any more. He's going to be unemployed in 2012."

Moore also advised Democrats to "get some gumption."

1. There is no reason to believe he will listen to Moore or any progressives on this, if past
performance is any reflection of future performance

6. Yes, it seems he only listens to those who hate him - really hate him...
My heart breaks for him sometimes - makes me wonder what he's been through that he responds to bullies the way he does.

9. I feel the same exact way. There is almost a perverse desire for acceptance
from people who will NEVER, EVER accept him, unfair though this may be.

It would be sad, if the results weren't so disastrous for the rest of America.

I'll agree with that to be sure!!

Isn't the Republican corporate party enough for you --

Why would you want to see the Democratic Party any further corrupted by corporatism?

16. That's the kind of school yard nonsense that should disappear from DU ....
Liberals want to win elections and have liberal/progressive legislation passed --

movement to the left -- no one here is looking for anything but a strong Obama and

a strong Democratic Party.

What you seem to be looking for is an absence of criticism of both Obama and the party --

not going to happen.

If you find the criticism so disturbing, why are you even involved with a debating forum?

8. Exactly. Which is why the lack of enthusiasm.
Apparently, he has to learn the hard way.

Sadly, it probably doesn't matter all that much to him.... whatever happens in 2012, *his* future and that of his family is very secure. Its the rest of us that take his failures on the chin.

19. 55% to 60% of voters DID NOT VOTE ..... how is that for lack of enthusiasm!!!
Agree with you Bobbie --

and too often we don't discuss just how turned off the public is by

corporate politics!!

Obama/Rahm/Gibbs all helped increase that "lack of enthusiasm" --

and Pelosi was after them -- visiting the White House twice in regard to their damaging

comments vs Democratic candidates -- asking if they were trying to get people to vote

against Democrats in the upcoming eleciton--!!!

PLUS we had the insulting comments directed to liberals/progressives --

We need a Plan B -- !!

:)

20. I've been working on my Plan B for a couple of years.
But when you are ignnored, its slow working in isolation.

Yet, I am stubborn enough to keep it up.

I can't honestly say that the bashing doesn't hurt, and doesn't take a toll. It definitely does. And they revel in that. :(

Until the rest of us who don't buy that *we* are to blame are able to work past our own Rugged Individualism and come together and work together, nothing will change.

Contrary to all the cute sayings, one person can't do a whole lot. It really does take a village.

4. Hello? White House.
Is anybody home? Mr. Obama, are you hearing this?

The heathens are at your door, are ya gonna blow kisses at them or turn them away?

5. The democrats and the democratic voters "getting some gumption" is the important thing.
Obama gave us a hint with "Yes, WE Can".

7. I bet President Obama gets far more advice than he knows what to do with.
I bet he welcomes unsolicited advice as much as any of us does, especially when they all have the answers for him.
