What would happen in a TEA BAGGER UTOPIA? (Please list your ideas)
Since tea baggers are against ALL government, ALL regulations and believe corporations should have complete control over peoples' lives, list things that would happen in a Tea Bagger Utopia. I'll start it off by listing 3 things. I expect to see thousands of responses!

1. Children's toys made out of toxic materials.
2. Drinking water that would kill them.
3. Planes dropping out of the sky every day due to zero government regulations.

1. Cities would be run by "warlords" with private armies like Blackwater.
It would be like Somalia.

36. Something like that, AT FIRST
Edited on Fri Nov-05-10 12:25 AM by CommonSensePLZ
I imagine they would (warning: pretty dystopian)

1. Scrap the government but expect somehow for America to continue being a 1st world nation
2. End taxation and loot national coffers
3. Plan on finally starting their own personal businesses and striking it rich(er)!
4. Slowly begin turning on each other as start getting really bad
5. All government programs begin to corrode and nothing is standardized and regulated anymore and crooked bosses cut corners everywhere and pay all their workers bottom dollar without benefits
6. Price gouging occurs all over the place when they bring experts in to fix all the problems the evil, socialist, regulating government we have now is overthrown - Hyperinflation follows
7. Major health crisis in hospitals with no government assistance
8. Areas of cities become horribly dirty with no government to keep them clean, although rich neighborhoods might not be quite as bad - hiring people to clean and such
9. Natural disasters and food bourne illnesses arise with no government to help or regulate
10. We have a new poverty situation many times worse than the great depression because of huger population
11. Riots begin but by then people are already turning on the tea party for convincing them that abolishing the gov't was a good idea
12. "Socialist" military disbanded (many people join for incentives, like housing, college..) back up at 1. people start getting scared though some remain out of sheer loyalty and everyone's got their own little militia
13. Crime and weapons begin pouring in faster than the minute men can stop them
14. The richest tea partiers are either hiding out in bunkers, have hired security or skipped the country long ago (for China is my guess) to escape consequences

Or if they kept any government at all they'd put a ultra-conservative in the head who'd screw up foreign policy worse than Bush and get us into a bunch of wars that would drain money, resources and spirits, then they would EXPAND the hell out of the government, decrease liberty and make America an ultra-conservative Protestant theocracy just for themselves to have more power.

Basically the end of America as we know it and their little bit of wealth and few guns would probably not be enough to protect them in the Anarchist States of America that they envision, this is how it usually goes down when the people don't have leadership, a coup succeeds or it's just poor vs. rich. I could be wrong but let's just try to NEVER find out. :)

I'm not saying that the government is great or perfect. I'm saying it's HUGE team made up of many teams, almost all of which are there to make sure the worst doesn't come to worst, not just tax the tea party.

6. Survival of the "fittest"
An abandonment of all humanity and a return to the law of the jungle.

That's what they really want and that's what this is really about. Social Darwinism.

The only irony, of course, is that most of them are wrong about imagining themselves to be "the strong" who will survive...

7. Say goodbye to your thriving downtown urban cities.
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 05:42 PM by Dappleganger
No public transportation at all.
No public financing of the arts, so that would shut down most museums, symphonies, ballets, operas, etc.
No more beautiful beaches, they'll be covered with oil and dead sea life. No more sea life, period.
No more fishing because the rivers, lakes and oceans will be too contaminated to sustain the fish. No more NO shrimp gumbo, MD crab or Maine lobster.

10. The Donner Party
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donner_Party

Each person or family for themselves dominated here (not everyone though, some were more selfless like Willian Eddy):

Here's a story illustrative of the some of the attitudes (each family for themselves):

"Margret Reed had managed to save enough food for a Christmas pot of soup, to the delight of her children, but by January they were facing starvation and considered eating the oxhides that served as their roof. Margret Reed, Virginia, Milt Elliott and the servant girl Eliza Williams attempted to walk out, reasoning that it would be better to try to bring food back than sit and watch the children starve. They were gone for four days in the snow before they had to turn back. Their cabin was now uninhabitable; the oxhide-roof served as their food supply, and the family moved in with the Breens. The servants went to live with other families. One day the Graveses came by to collect on the debt owed by the Reeds and took the oxhides which were all the family had to eat."

28. and the thing is that all of the Donner Party could have survived
if they had pulled all resources together and had one big sharing pot. Must be some of that distrustful, individualism spirit. when found, some of the donner party had a lot more food to survive, while others had none.

11. Don't forget about the 2nd Holocaust.
Of course, they scream that they aren't racists. Well, I don't believe that for a second.

Just like the Nazi's, they will become increasingly emboldened as they grow their fascist movement. They will go from criticism to intimidation to "ethnic cleansing" of "undesirables" -- the poor, the handicapped, religious and ethnic minorities, political dissenters, and especially those they see as "dangerous" -- Muslims, Jews, Hispanics, GLBT folks, Socialists/Progressives/Liberals.

I used "will" -- I'm torn between "will" or "would". I think it's more likely to happen than not.

Look what happened in KY -- boots to the neck and head of a peaceful protester, followed by a demand for an "apology" from the victim. Followed by slap on the hand charges (yeah, let's see where THAT goes). The entire scenario is straight out of Germany 1932/1933.

16. Sadly, I too think that is where this is all heading.
There are many signs pointing to it.

Our only hope is an informed citizenry. What are the odds someone will grow a brain pretty soon and realize it's well past time to contain the 24/7 propaganda, aka mainstream news?

Human beings can be SO STUPID. It's just a pity they have to drag us off the cliff with them.

19. The USA would become a Theocracy...A Christian nation..
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 06:45 PM by AsahinaKimi
With Christian factions fighting to gain control over the nation. All other religions would be snuffed out. There would be a Sharia like law in America. Women would be second class citizens, Gays, Lesbians, Trangender etc, would be put to death as a Cleansing process. Wiccans, Atheists, Hindu, Buddhists, and people of other religions either deported or killed. There would be bloody revolution and freedom fighters, who would now be called terrorists trying to ursurp military strongholds. America would become a urban street brawl.. and martial law would go into effect but would be ineffective. People would be round up and put in prison camps.. and slowly left to starve to death. People would betray one another to get goods and services. There would be groups forming in secret to try and destroy the elite..or destroy their supplies. Maybe, other countries would send their military here, or would be warned off by those in charge of the nuclear weapons. (Some of which would be set off in certain cities to warn people not to be stupid, to oppose them.)

It would be our worst nightmare.

No government, just rule by various corporations in charge of different territories.

I think the movie was meant to be a nightmare scenario but we see now that it was wildly optimistic.

24. yeah, there would be more ghetto areas and then
areas for the obscenely wealthy. The wealthy will hire more blackwater type thugs (they don't have to hire americans). KO was talking about cheney's little energy friends and a technique (which now these repugs) will probably be used more to extract natural gas. I guess the thing is the chemical used for extraction is toxic and if it gets in the water supply, which it has before, you got an igniting bomb in your faucet. I see more polluted drinking water, more unhealthy air and more tainted food because no inspections. I see the pharma pushing more shite and using humans as guinea pigs, with no backlash (tort reform). I see deregulating where it becomes more "buyer beware" and the corporations superseding rights becoming stronger than the individual for power.

The elite will use religion as a tool to keep the masses in line. Yes, it could be like a theocratic corporate state. The aristocracy used religion to keep the plebes in line--and then there is the "divine right of kings." What disturbed me about Little Boots, is that some, like the C street gang, believe it is the will of god, instead of by the people. That perception is in the same line as "divine right of kings" and another is "I'm chosen by God that's why I have this money." Being poor, even though the wealthy will cause it, will be seen as a sin. And, if there are politicians, they will be in the pay of the elite against the people.
