Good News: We're Holding on to 1 More House Seat: Connolly (D, VA-11) -- though not yet "official"

The various precincts' electoral boards have nearly completed their canvassing and at this moment Connolly has a 935 vote margin (out of approx 220,000 votes cast). The electoral boards are expected to certify their results tomorrow (Friday).

Fewer than 400 provisional ballots have yet to be reviewed, so mathematically, this can not prevent Connolly's victory. A slim, but sufficient, margin. While Fimian (no abortion under any circumstances, etc) will be able to request a recount, this ongoing canvassing process is pretty much doing the same thing.

Those of us who were getting out the vote for him have been watching this especially closely... on election night his lead was only 480 votes. The canvassing process has only helped him. I remember that one woman whose house we hit 35 minutes before the polls closed, and she didn't know where her polling place was... when I told her, she immediately grabbed her coat. I'll bet there are DUer vignettes like this all over the country... so glad this one is turning out like this. (Whew!!)
