Do you think anything we say gets back to the President?
Not the actual words, but the general mood and specific points.

I'm sure that DKos diarists and HuffPo commenters are saying much the same as us. Not to mention the influential blogs or major figures like M. Moore or Krugman.

Do you think he even hears about us? Or does he exist in his own little information bubble?

Or even worse, does he discount all of us?

4. Yes, not even through "back channels"
It was just left to stand there on it's own.

That galled me.

5. Yes. I wasn't sure for a while but then I heard a quote about him saying
"my base is furious with me" -- and when he invited the Off The Record group to the White House (Rachel, et al).

I was afraid about the info bubble but even if they try to "protect" him, he's smart enough to discover it for himself.

7. Why would it matter.
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 08:43 PM by RandomThoughts
it is not the posting of a thought that has the effect.

I know how a control civilization could be set up using some of those methods, although if that is true, then the effects can not be in the reading of a post. So to assume someone has to know what you said is a limitation you would put on the effect.

You are only responsible for expressing a thought, not knowing if it is read or listened to.

8. We all want to know if our words have an effect
We're thinking people. Words express our ideas and dreams.

We don't just say them to decorate cyberspace.

10. It does
I know for a fact that Junior Staffers for the US House and US senate read blogs... part of their job.

And the WH, I suspect, has junior staffers doing the same.

There is a limit, but I would not be too shocked if those people are trained analysts who can spot a trend like this fast.

Specific posts? No... trends, feelings... yes.

It will take the staff a little while to get a brief fit for their boss (Regardless of whether they are in congress, senate or the POTUS) but the report will get to them.

How do I know? Staffer told me as much. In a weird event one of my posts caught the attention of a junior staffer for my district. I talk to my rep regularly, so we got into an email exchange for about three emails.

And having talked to actual members of congress in person, and the senate, I have been told as much.

12. That's interesting
I wonder if there's an informal "network" between staffers from the WH, Congress and Senate.

I guess that's always been there in D.C. to a point.

14. Yes, but they have to keep some firewalls
separation of powers and all that.

But anybody trained in Intel Analysis is the type that I'd prefer reading this, not an intern. And the blogs include FR and the rest of the RW blogosphere.

They, I am sure, need to select what they will stick to for the day and change from blog to blog since they are different. See Kos and DU for example

11. He heard the sonic booms.
Although here is the real question, if they have heard what I have posted why have they chosen their own destruction instead of correcting what they should correct?

13. Maybe a little here and there, but I'm sure it's framed as "coming from the kooky fringe."
He might occasionally have a staffer brief him on what the kooky extremists are saying, just for a complete picture.

17. I highly, highly doubt it.
I know political commentators sometimes look at DU, but to the White House, we are not worthy of consideration. For one thing, we're far too liberal.

18. I think he's so tired of getting it from all sides,
with not a fucking soul defending him in anyway about anything,
discounting every fucking thing he has done,
and allowing racist ass shit to be said about him and his wife,
and no one giving a fuck,
until I would want to shut out all of the fucking noise,
so that I could just get some shit done too!

If he scratches his ass with the left hand,
its a fucking scandal.

I'm tired of the whining about what Obama needs to, has to, ought to, or could or should fucking do.

What in the fuck is anyone else doing? Where in the fuck is the support....?
and if there ain't none, why in the fuck should he have to listen to the
inccessant whining.....

Just primary his ass........

Then folks can whine and cry and panic and always think the worse,
and then lose the upcoming election with someone else getting beat donw.
This shit is so fucking tiring.
