Glenn Beck Fantasizes About Obama Being Assassinated In India

On his radio show today Glenn Beck fantasized that Muslim extremists could assassinate President Obama while he visits India because, “If anybody thinks he was a Muslim over here, well God forbid, they think he was a Muslim over there because he left his religion for Christianity, death sentence, behead him.”

Beck started off his latest fantasy with a dose of fear, “We’re spending $2 billion for what reason? We are putting the President, I’m sorry, I know the President doesn’t believe there are bad guys in the world that want to see America destroyed, but I do believe that….Do you have any concept of what it would mean if the President of the United States God forbid, were taken out on our soil let alone in India? Do you have any idea what that would mean? It would be New World Order overnight, overnight.”

He continued, “He’s going to the Gandhi museum and God forbid something happens to him. Are you kidding me? He was a man of the world. He was a man of peace, just like Gandhi. God help us all. Why is the President putting himself in danger? Why is anyone allowing him to put himself in danger, and if it’s not a danger, why do we have 34 warships?…I don’t care if you spend $10 billion to protect the President. Nothing can happen to the president, period. I don’t like the man. He’s the President of the United States nothing can happen to him, so I don’t care how much money you spend, but why is going there? Why are we spending $2 billion to put him there?”

He's not that different from his predecessors in the Entertainment Industry who put forth a plethora of negative stereotypes of persons of color that are not only adopted by the wider audience; these images continue to be absorbed by other social institutions in this nation.

It's always funny until such racist entertainment is directed at a person in personal terms. Then, it ceases to be written off as "just entertainment" and more of a virulent attack.
