1. There was no such golden age. There was, however, an age when workers' wages kept up with

productivity, when you didn't have to take out a loan to go to college, when it seemed ordinary people could make a difference, & it seems the country was making progressing on redressing ancient wrongs. Roughly 1940-1975.

I should have added: when half of income didn't go to the top 10%.
