Tomas this morning

Just rain and a pleasant breeze in Kingston and St Andrew so far. Poor Haiti - I cry for my neighbours - lots of water to come but all things considered the track could have been much worst.
Gitmo, Eastern Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos will also face Tomas.
Over 20 people died from this system in Costa Rico in the past two days.
We'll watch the flooding today.

but the poor and those living in flood-prone neighborhoods are never that lucky.
The island is on lock down so we get a long weekend.

3. My thoughts

are with you and Haiti (and anywhere else Tomas is going to hit). Hang on and stay safe.

Can we envision the hurricane spinning in the opposite direction (putting it in reverse), envision it slowing down its power, being reabsorbed into the ocean....see a sunny sky, a gentle breeze and smooth water all around Haiti.

Please take just a few moments to stop and envision this.
