is to grab as much power as they possibly can and hold on to it as long as they possibly can. Oh, and "cut taxes" which is all they ever say. Jobs? Rescue? Not on their to-do list. Ever.

Educated voters are likely to vote progressive, and we can't have that! Feed the public a constant diet of celebrity scandals, silly pop stars, inane reality shows and overblown professional sports, and they won't have the time or inclination to actually learn anything about any real life issues. Then when it comes time for a vote, just feed them directions on which choices to make. It's all a sideshow to present the illusion that there is a vestige of a democracy left.
