5. I agree.
Greenwald's argument is not even logical.

2. It seemed to me that Lawrence was the one destroying Greenwald, who basically just sat there.

Greenwald's main point was also false. He said that if we elected progressives to conservative districts, we could have passed a bigger stimulus.

But even if we assume that progressives could have been elected to districts that went for McCain by 20 points (which is obviously false), his argument is still bogus. The House was not the barrier to passing a bigger stimulus. The House as elected in 2008 could have passed a 1.5 trillion dollar stimulus. It was the SENATE that was the barrier to a bigger stimulus, where we didn't have enough Democrats to pass a 1.5 trillion dollar stimulus at all (since we only have 58 Democrats overall, and had to get 2 Republican votes).

8. Ah, the magic number "60" again rears its ugly head.
They didn't do shit when they had it, so let's see what they do with a simple majority.

I don't know what they've been playing at, but they've each got to scramble now to keep their jobs and a slim majority.

I'm thinking they're gonna get busy.

9. I saw C Rose push Nancy Pelosi on this issue. Nancy Squirmed
leading one to believe it was Deficit Hawks in both
the House and the Senate.

10. Exactly. This is why we didn't get the under $250k tax cuts extended before the election and
let the +$250k tax cuts expire. We Do Not have the votes to do this in the Democratic caucus in Congress. I know the "in" thing to do right now is blame Obama for that because he can always use his "magic wand" to just make it happen yet some how "chooses" not to. That isn't the problem. We don't have the votes for it. There is a large enough number of moderate Dems that want to keep the top tax cuts also that we can't get it passed the other way.

7. I saw Greenwald on Ratigan's show yesterday
when not being talked over...Greenwald makes perfect sense. O'Donell is acting like a spoiled child because something negative was written about him.
